NoVa NEWS: Mama Gives Birth in Animal Control Truck...(click the picture to read more and see puppy pictures!)

Mother Rottie (we've named her "Mira" ~ short for Miracle) goes into labor whle roaming at large lost, then begins giving birth in the Animal Control truck, and finally finishes delivering her 6 puppies at a local shelter.

We desperately need your tax-deductible donations to cover the huge medical expenses NoVA will incur for this family. Please consider helping us help them. You can contribute through PayPal or send donations to our post office box listed below.

This is an urgent need for help ~ we could not just leave them to die in the shelter. The mother is a very sweet, gentle dog which says a lot about the temperment of these babies .

The Rescue League has a mandatory spay/neuter contract agreement.
  • All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.
  • The adoption fee for dogs older than 4-months is $300.00. The adoption fee for puppies under 4-months old is $350.00.
  • We do not adopt out aggressive dogs or dogs to be used for protection.
  • NoVa Rottweiler Rescue only adopts dogs into the Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • Please understand that while we would like to address each application as quickly as possible, we do not have paid employees, we are only staffed by volunteers. Applications are not processed in any order. We do our best to get to each one within two weeks of receiving it. We ask that you be patient as we do often have a lot of applications and we do take more then one application on each dog.

Please help the homeless and lonely dogs that have lost their families because:
it grew too big,
it is too friendly,
it sheds,
it barks,
too much work,
we just had a baby so dog must go,
divorce,
some dogs have just gotten lost,
people move and leave dog behind,
don't have time for it.

Skylar

Adopt Skylar!

Meet Skylar! Skylar is a 14 month old male who's owner took him to a shelter. NoVa soon discovered that Skylar had a hip injury and vowed to help him.

NoVa raised funds to provide him with a much needed hip surgery and now he is healthy and ready to be adopted!

Skylar wants to know, "Now that my leg is healed and I am running and playing, why don't I have my own home?"

Adoption Event:

Join us on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Petco-Rockville from 2:00pm - 5:00pm located in the Congressional North Shopping Center at 1507 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD.

Adoption Event and Family Fun:

Join us and a few of our adoptable Rotties at an upcoming outdoor event in Leesburg, VA! Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 12pm - 4pm in historic downtown Leesburg.

Historic, downtown Leesburg is "going to the dogs!" Well, at least for this Sunday afternoon. The downtown streets will be transformed into a pedestrian walkway featuring everything dog related, including dog rescue and adoption organizations, pet sitters, veterinarians, trainers, groomers, and "boutique" shops. If it's dog related, you will find it during this wonderful event.!
