NoVa Rottweiler Rescue specifically rescues pure bred Rottweilers, we generally do not take in mixes (accept where indicated). Unfortunately, we do NOT have a facility for you to visit. Each one of our rescues lives in a volunteer's foster home until they are adopted. You can meet our dogs in person at our adoption events or make an appointment in advance to meet them at an alternate time.

There are 45 cats and dogs for every person born. Only 1 out of 10 dogs born ever get a home. Only 1 out of 12 cats born ever find a home. 800 dogs & cats are KILLED each HOUR in the U.S, because there are not enough homes for them. Opt to adopt.

Dogs That Need a Second Chance in Life
The Rottweiler is a loyal, loving, devoted family pet. They will risk their lives to save their loved ones. With love and proper care this breed is an ideal choice. They are also a working class breed to enjoy. They were bred to be drover dogs, they pulled carts for the Romans, and they excel in obedience because of their superior intelligence. They do require quality time from their owners and should belong to someone willing to devote that time for socializtion, and training. Rottweilers need to be a part of the family and treated as a family member. They are naturally protective and make great companions, when living in the right environment. Rottweilers are loyal, courageous, devoted, intelligent, and dedicated to pleasing their owners. What more could anyone ask for in choosing a dog? Please know, however, that this breed is not for everyone. Rottweilers are a wonderful breed and they require a serious and long term commitment by anyone who chooses to own one.

Your generous donation can help us feed and care for these Rotties while they are waiting to go to their future homes. You may choose to sponsor a particular dog or any Rottie in our program that needs help.

Believing there is no such thing as fur that isn't matted, skin that isn't flea bitten, good food and enough of it, beds to sleep on, someone to love me, to show me I deserve love just because I exist. Your kind eyes, your loving smile, your gentle hands. Your big heart saved me...You saved me from the terror of the pound, Soothing away the memories of my old life. You have taught me what it means to be loved. I have seen you do the same for other dogs like me. I have heard you ask yourself in times of despair, "Why you do it?" When there is no more money, no more room, no more homes. You open your heart a little bigger, stretch the money a little tighter. Make just a little more room...to save one more like me. I tell you with the gratitude and love that shines in my eyes. In the best way I know how Reminding you why you go on trying. I am the reason. The dogs before me are the reason. As are the ones who come after. Our lives would've been wasted, our love never given. We would die if not for you.
