Dylan's Story:

Dylan has fully recovered and is ready for adoption. He is now 1 year old. He is a puppy that needs a home with an adult there during the day. He tries to be a very good boy and not have accidents but he does need to go outside frequently during the day. Dylan is too active for small children. He loves other dogs but as with all puppies, he is wants to play non stop. He would probably do best in a home with another young dog close to his age. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. This sweet boy will require a lot of time, patience and training.

Dylan's History:

This 6 month old puppy came from a local shelter on September 19th. He is probably 15-20 lbs. underweight. After we picked him up from the shelter, the very next morning he was rushed to the vet, too weak to stand up and having trouble breathing. The vet sadly told me that the puppy was dieing of pneumonia and starvation. Our wonderful vet at Turkey Foot Veterinary Clinic is not someone that would ever give up on a dog without trying everything possible to save it, but he did say he wasn't sure because this puppy was really in bad shape. If we had not rescued him on that day, he would have died in the shelter on Thursday for sure. The pneumonia was VERY bad and this 6 month old puppy only weighs 47 lbs. I hated to leave the little guy because I was so afraid I wouldn't see him again but I knew he was in good hands. I hugged him and told him I loved him. I wanted him to know that SOMEONE does love him. He kissed me and wagged his tail and I left in tears.

Three days later on Saturday the 22nd, Dylan finally turned the corner and I got the phone call that this little fella was going to make it. We picked him up on Sunday and he is now on the road to recovery. Our vet bill was very high but this puppy is going to make a full recovery.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to assist with his vet expense. We named him "Dylan" after our vet, Dr. Dhillon, who above all is a wonderful man that refused to let him die.

These pictures were taken shortly after we rescued Dylan!

Updates as of 10/15/07 - Dylan our starvation case came home from the hospital 4 days after we rescued him weighing 47 lbs. Almost a month later, he has gained almost 12 pounds! He eats 4 small meals a day and has a wonderful appetite. His health is steadily improving. Dylan is VERY grateful that he is feeling better but he is still on medication for pneumonia and will continue with medication until the vet feels he is well. In the meantime, watch as he turns into a handsome, healthy puppy!

It is absolutely amazing what 1 month of

special food & care can do to a dog that should NEVER have had to do without it!

If you can't adopt me will you please sponsor me?!
